Hey Everyone ! This week has been pretty good thus far. Susan has been really busy with recruitment this week, so its gave me the chance to hang out more with my friends, which is always nice. Me and Grizzard went to Cosmo's last night, man it was packed. We had to wait in line for about thirty minutes just to get a table, and when we finally did get a table, it was the biggest one they had so we invited the people behind us to eat dinner with us. They were really cool about it and they seemed really nice. Afterwards I went over to Thomas's house and played some Frozen Throne. I did alright, won two games so they is not too bad. Well other than that work is continuing to get harder and harder for me, but I like a challenge so I dont mind. Not too much going on other than that. Yall take it easy.

Hello Everyone ! It's labor day and I've had a pretty good labor day weekend. Friday night me and Susan grilled out at her parents home and enjoyed some fine wine :) so thats always fun, then on saturday I watched college football all day long and witness the University of Tennesee beat down Cal 35-18, which made me really happy. Its good to see the Vols rebound with a big win after a dissapointing season last year. That night Me and Drew watched the Notre Dame-Georgia Tech game which was pretty good. On Sunday, Me and Susan played tennis, went to wal-mart, and enjoyed come double chip frappachinos at Star Bucks. Today is my grandpa's 72nd birthday. So our family is having a labor day - birthday grill out at my grandparents house today. Pretty excited about it actually. Well Im gonna head on out of here. Ya'll take it easy

Oh man, Im getting pretty excited. The World Basketball Championships are down to their final four with the remaining teams being Spain, Argentina, Greece, and the United States. With all teams being undefeated thus far in the tournament and each one of these teams won each of their groups. The first semi-final match up features Spain going against Argentina. Both teams have NBA talents such as Spain's Pau Gasol ( Memphis Grizzlies ) Jose Manuel Calderon ( Toronto Raptors ) and Argentina's Maun Ginoboli ( San Antonio Spurs ) and  Fabrico Oberto ( San Antonio Spurs ) so needless to say these teams are very talented. Both teams play stellar defense and feature really good half-court offenses. Spain has dominated this rivalry in the past few years and owns a 5-1 advantage in international play so its hard to go against the Spainards. Im going with Spain to win this one and advance to the finals.

My Prediction: Spain 86 , Argentina 79

The second semi-final features Greece going against the USA. This game should be pretty fun to watch as both teams have dominated every opponent they have faced. Greece won the EuroBasket Tournament in 2005 and features alot of those teams in this years World Basketball Championship team. Greece has no NBA players on their roster but features alot of the top starts in the European Leagues.  So Team USA's scouts will have their work cut out for them because most of these players are unknown to Team USA players. Team USA has been very dominate thus far and have shown they can play team basketball. I think this game will be pretty close with Team USA coming on top at the end.

My Prediction: United States 94, Greece 83

I love this time of year .... the weather is nice, baseball season is winding down and every four years the World Basketball Championships come around :) Lets start off with baseball ... the past couple of days I just witness the new age "Boston Massacre" as the Yankees swept all five games in their series with the Boston Red Sox ... to be honest with you this didnt really surprise me that much. As much as I despise the Yankees they did help their team alot when they aquired Bobby Abreau and Cory Lidle from the Phillies at the trade deadline, as the Red Sox failed to make any significant deals at the trade deadline. I think the reason for this is that as much as they hate to admit it is they cant out-spend the Yankees. Dont get me wrong Boston has alot of money to spend but not quite as much as the "Evil Empire" has to offer. So I believe GM Theo Upstein decided to keep his Minor League prospects and see how they pan out, but while doing this he conceeded the AL East and most likely the AL Wild Card to the Yankees and White Sox respectively. All in all this year has been quite the disappointment for me when it comes to my favorite teams and their seasons thus far it appears the Red Sox will not make the postseason as well as my beloved Milwaukee Brewers. The Brewer's downfall this year has been pitching ( or lack there of ) and the failure to keep Carlos Lee at the trade deadline. This year though they had a realitively good chance to get in the postseason with the NL being such a big mess but unfortunately they werent able to capatilize on a toxy-turby year in the NL this past season. Sigh .. always next year though.

Now on to the World Basketball Championships, I love watching this event every four years because of two reasons. A) I like watching the US compete against the ever growing power of international basketball, and surprisingly watching them play some defense. B) I enjoy watching the team play of international basketball. This year the US National Team put together a group of role players instead of their usual group of All-Stars. Their team consist of good shooters: Joe Johnson, Kirk Hinrich, Antwan Jaminson, Gilbert Arenas, Good Defenders: Shane Battier and Bruce Bowen. and your group of super stars: D-Wade, LBJ, and Carmelo Anthony.

So far the US has won the group and has one more game against Senegal. The US has locked up the Group D top seed and will play either Lithuania, Brazil, or Australia in the knockout rounds. Some other teams to keep an eye on are Turkey, Greece, Spain, and Argentina. This years event is being held in Japan so Ive had to wake up at 6 every morning to watch Team USA play. They have impressed me quite a bit thus far and I hope Coach K will continue to preach the TEAM concept over the next couple of rounds. Here's hoping they win the Gold. Adios everyone.
